TRIO NECKLACE

TRIO NECKLACE

By Linda Jones (www.wirejewellery.co.uk)

This gorgeous trio of dichroic beads make a beautiful feature necklace.  You can choose to suspend the centrepiece beads from a ribbon, cord or chain of your choice.  All you need for the project is:  3 dichroic beads, small black teardrop beads and some small black seed beads, some gold coloured jump rings, a 16” gold coloured chain with clasp (or black cord), 2 x 1mm gold coloured crimps and some 0.5mm clear nylon filament. (materials can be found here)

Tools:  Round, flat and chain nosed pliers, wire cutters.

  1. Working from a spool of 0.5mm clear nylon filament, thread the length with:

20 small black seed beads, 1 1mm gilt crimp, 12 small black teardrop beads, one dichroic bead, 6 small black teardrop beads, a second dichroic, another 6 small black teardrop beads and finally 12 more small black teardrop beads and a 1mm gilt crimp and finally, a further 20 small black seed beads.

  1. Bring the seed beads around to form a beaded loop and thread the end of the nylon back through the gilt crimp, using your chain nosed pliers to squeeze the crimp flat to secure.
  2. Cut the nylon from the spool, leaving approximately 2” (5cm) projecting and form another beaded loop on the other side (as in step 2).  Cut off any projecting nylon near the crimps.
  3. Attach each side to chain or cord, as desired!
